Movahed, P.E., D.E.E.
12122B Heritage Park Circle Ben Movahed P.E., D.E.E is the President of WATEK Engineering Corporation in Maryland, USA. He has a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Houston and a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Maryland. Ben is a registered professional engineer in seven states, and has 23 years of experience in evaluation and design of advanced water treatment plants and is specialized in Reverse Osmosis desalination and membrane filtration technologies. He is the past president and current excecutive board member of the American Membrane Technology Association, past chair of CSAWWA water quality Committee, active member of International Desalination Association (IDA), AWWA and ASCE. Ben has received 9 awards from various national organizations, such as AWWA, American Desalination Association, and AMTA. He has published and presented over 40 papers at various conferences and in national journals. He has co-authored and edited books and journals, and continues teaching short courses related to membrane technology to Johns Hopkins graduate students and local water plant operators.
