To celebrate Violet’s life and rejoice in her memory
Dear Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I share with you the news of the passing of my beloved wife, Violet. To call her my wife, or even my better half, does not begin to describe her role in our life together, which lasted nearly four fleeting decades. She was also my best friend, my soul mate, and my source of inspiration. She was a consummate human being – kind and considerate to a fault – and touched the hearts of everyone she met.
In reflecting on her radiant spirit, I found the undertones of this Native American hymn to ring true.
I give you this one thought to keep –
I am with you still – I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the sweet uplifting rush,
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone –
I am with you still in each new dawn.
For friends wishing to celebrate her life and rejoice in her memory, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the “Rio” Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center.

Please note that her wish is for attendees to not wear black. Also, while we understand the customary desire to bring flowers, she has requested that in lieu of this, to make a donation to one of her favorite charities: Children of Persia, Omid Foundation, or the charity of your choice. Alternatively, donation boxes will be available at the memorial event.
If you so please, the Children of Persia will be accepting donations in the memory of Violet.
The Omid Foundation will also accept contributions. Donors are invited to write “in the memory of Violet Garoosi” in the comments portion of the contribution, yet those who wish to remain anonymous are also welcomed to do so.
